Lichenoid eczema

The papules are flat-topped and shiny (lichenoid) but lack the purple colour of lichen planus. This is a common result of scratching and rubbing the itchy skin of atopic eczema in blacks.
Thickening of the epidermis results from clawing of pruritic eczematous skin. A reddened papular rash results, particularly on the limbs.
